Feature suggestion - Timelapse for artists

I am requesting a native "Time-lapse Recording" toggle in Photoshop Desktop that automatically records the canvas view only, ignoring zoom, rotation, and UI elements. Currently, Graphic Designers, Digital artists, and Illustrators on Desktop Photoshop have no easy way to share their creative process on social media (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts).We must use OBS/Screen Capture software + a second "New Window" to avoid recording zoom/rotation jitters.This is technically difficult to set up, requires heavy computer resources, and results in massive video file sizes that require significant post-processing to speed up.

Please implement a background recording feature similar to Procreate (iPad) or Clip Studio Paint.

The best thing to do is follow davescm’s advice and submit a feature request for Photoshop desktop at the link he provided. Obviously Adobe knows that sharing the painting process is important since you saw them add time lapse export to Fresco on iPad, as well as live streaming from several Adobe iPad apps.

But Photoshop on the desktop has a much wider and deeper feature set having to do with a lot more than just painting, so time lapse recording and live streaming have to compete with many more potential improvements that need to be made. If you submit a feature request for Photoshop desktop, that might help make time lapse export happen sooner, if it gets a lot of votes versus the other feature requests in the pipeline.

Photoshop currently has a ways to save a Frame animation Timelapse as an animated Gif or Video file. Why do you think Adobe Photoshop needs to be able to do something like an other application does for an artists timelapse?   Does Clip studio not create a timelapse from a series of  images the artist capture over time? Perhaps you want Photoshop to create an series of version of the Artist drawings sessions. The artist can create a seed drawing video with.

You can most likely find display capturing software that will capture an artist display as they develop their Art over time the will captures all the artist does is Photoshop and other software  they use to create their art work. An Artist may not even use or have photoshop.  An Artist may not know clip studio paint. Photoshop is most like not the Application you want to use to create an artist timelapse. It has basic video featurs only.

You could of course export an image at stage of your process and build the timelpase from the exported image sequence.
