(Feb) Nano Banana Pro in Photoshop: "Could not complete your request because of a program error" – Works intermittently, very slow/fails most times

Hello

I've been using Generative Fill with Google Nano Banana Pro in Photoshop for photo editing, and it's been extremely unreliable today (February 17, 2026). Yesterday it worked fine, but now it's mostly failing.

I get the error: "Could not complete your request because of a program error" almost every time.

Out of ~50 attempts today, it succeeded only a few times (maybe 3–5), and even then it took much longer than usual to load/complete.

I've burned through around 2000 credits in the process (heavy retries).

Other models in the same dropdown (e.g., Flux, Kontext, or Firefly Pro) work normally and generate quickly/reliably.

In the standalone Firefly web app, Nano Banana Pro generations are also very slow (long progress bars), but they eventually complete after waiting a long time.

What I've already tried (no improvement):
Downgraded Photoshop from 27.3.1 to 27.3
Purged all caches (Edit > Purge > All,
Signed out/in of Creative Cloud.
Tested on different photos/prompts

This feels like a backend/server-side issue specific to Nano Banana Pro (perhaps throttling, quota weirdness after heavy use, or temporary degradation), since other models are unaffected and Firefly web shows similar slowness with it.

Has anyone else seen this spike in failures/slowdowns with Nano Banana Pro recently?

I would really appreciate some response/help.
Thank you

I’m experiencing the same issue in the UK, and I’m not using the beta. The tool fails, yet it continues to deduct credits.  I’ve lost around 1,000 so far. That’s completely unacceptable. If a feature isn’t working, it should not be charging users. Adobe needs to address this immediately and reimburse affected accounts.

Adobe should offer a full credit until this mess is sorted - or remove it from PS until fixed. They can claim off Google

Now, it seems like they've messed with the AI's allocation, and even the results that were output once out of 30 attempts are now garbage.

I am on a 7000 credits per months plan  and i have wasted so many of them on failed attemts. I will cancell the plan as it is unusable.

Any updates,  news regarding this issue?? Irritating every time i need to generate something. And was so mad to find out that they are deducting credits every time.

Not working, ok, may happen sometimes.

But charging credits in that case is not acceptable.

Having the same issue now for the last two days (most of the time) – of course it charges credits – but no results at the end. Frustrating.

I’ve been using Gemini 3 in Photoshop for a couple of months with very little issue. In the past few days it has become unusable. I get “Program error” or “Error during generation” message boxes. Failed generations will take 3 or 4 minutes. My photoshop is totally updated and my internet connection is almost 1 Gb up and 1 Gb down with very low latency/ping times.

Same issue here and for sure credits are being deducted for absolutely zero results! Has anyone heard anything from Adobe?

I have the same issue and have troubleshooted all the possible issues. Still does not work.
Can Adobe contact me directly please?
