file not opening in photoshop from camera raw

Question

Hi all. All of a sudden i am unable to open a raw file in photoshop (latest version)  from camera raw (latest version). it was working fine one minute then not the next. Clicking the “open” button does nothing and photoshop doesn’t open. However...if I double click the file in adobe bridge it opens in camera raw and then if i click “open” it will open in photoshop. Any help/suggestions appreciated. i’ve already tried reinstalling camera raw and resetting camera raw preferences

@paul190453 After a number of hours i solved the issue! It was the folder name that was the problem. it had an apostrophe in the name. I removed that and it’s all fine now.

Thanks for reporting back!From time to time people get into trouble for using special characters in file/folder names - even if these characters are allowed as such, they may cause problems in some situations and contexts.The classic example, of course, is the period. It is allowed - but if, say, Windows is set to hide extensions, it can suddenly be treated as the extension separator, and the file can’t be opened.My own rule is to only use regular characters - and if a special character is required, I let an underscore take that spot. The underscore is always safe.
