GENERATIVE AI BUG IN VERSION 25

A few months ago there was a problem with Photoshop not allowing full layer AI effects in PS 25. I dumped it and reloaded an earlier version. Is this problem still happening? I have since gotten a new laptop and things are not working as I remember - (I swear I may have dementia or something) It's when you select all on the layer, go into quick mask mode, paste a color (070707) and back out of quick mask mode. FRom here you can take that photo and create a generative effect on the entire layer. HAving a total mental block. Help.

My difficulty has been fixed. I also got on Chat in the process. I ended up reinstalling PS2024. IN the default tool palette, quick mask is missing. The rep schooled me in tool bar preferences and I am up and running. I am a few versions behind the brush selection tool so I will see if I can upgrade to that - or flip back and forth. 

I had been noticing the Generative Fill has been blurry in 2025 and 2026 so this will be a way to test where that happened along the way. I have been using Topaz to help with that but not 100% effective.

Could you please post screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible to illustrate?

Hi Susan, 

I am not tracking with you. Have you installed the latest version of 2025 on your new machine? When you say "paste" a color in Quick Mask, do you mean chane the mask color in the Quick Mask dialog box? If you could give us more information, we can help you more effectively! (And no, you are not crazy...things have changed!) 

Could you possibly post a screeen shot?
