Generative credits disappear

I’m using the Firefly workspace in Photoshop 27.6 for generating since there is the possibility to generate 4k images. This works most of the time. Now I have the problem that the generating takes forever and nothing happens. But the credits are gone of course…

This should never ever happen. Credits shouldn’t be charged at the beginning of generating but when generating is finished. Just because of problems like this or you want to abort because of fixing the prompt. It is really annoying getting credits charged for nothing.

Hi @AKS666, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble. Yes, credits are charged upfront (as soon as you click “Generate”), but they should be reimbursed for failed attempts. You can contact Adobe support for a manual refund. Some other things to keep in mind:

Generative AI services can experience outages that cause requests to stall. If your projects are large or very complex, especially when working with 4K or very detailed content, processing can result in timeouts. Do you have a stable and reasonably fast internet connection? Any firewalls installed? Upload speed is more critical when using the generative tasks. For example, my upload speed is 31.06 Mbps and my download speed is 210.9 Mbps. You might want to check your speed with this tool: https://www.speedtest.net/ to see what range you are in.

Hello, you’re right, the credits came back after some time. I guess it’s ok then.

The speed in my office is fine, way faster than yours, so I guess it was some kind of outage, I’ll try again today since I know now credits don’t get lost :)
