I know Generative Fill is a thing now in Photoshop and you're supposed to select the rectangle marquee tool and select a part of an image and then a menu is supposed to pop up but it doesn't for me and I have no idea why or what I'm doing wrong please help cause this is frustrating and annoying.

When you select an area, the Contextual Task Bar is supposed to change and show a Generative Fill button, but if the Contextual Task Bar is hidden you won’t see it, so maybe the bar is hidden. There are two ways to handle this.

One is to reveal the Contextual Task Bar: Click the Window menu and make sure Contextual Task Bar is enabled (near the bottom of the menu).

The other is to use the generative fill menu command instead: Click the Edit menu, and choose Generative Fill. That will do the same thing.
