Created GF for 16x9 (1920x1080), but now need that same fill for 9x16... is there a way to take the current fill I have and apply that generative to different canvas size?

Hi @Todd_Morgan

If you really like the existing artwork, I’d recommend resizing the current image rather than generating a completely new one, as Generative Fill results can vary even when using the same prompt. If you need to change from 16×9 to 9×16, you have a couple of options:

  • Resize or crop the image to fit the new aspect ratio, adjusting the composition as needed.

  • Use Generative Expand to extend the canvas when increasing the size, which helps preserve the original artwork while filling in the new areas. Here is a quick tutorial: https://adobe.ly/3MzKGLH

This approach helps maintain visual consistency and avoids unexpected changes that can occur with a fresh generation.

OK thanks. Already aware of those options. Was hoping the AI prompt juice would still be accessable if ammending the canvas size... maybe add that into the next update?
