There is definitely a learning curve in getting good results from Gen Fill, and no matter how long you have been using it, it can still be stupid.  I tried inserting Dick Whittington and his cat into an image for our SFTW thread today, and Gen Fill didn't like the word 'Dick'.   

 

If you have too much skin in your original image, you can block it out on a new layer — do the Gen Fill and then turn off the blocked out layer.  This can be quite satisfying as you feel like you have got one over the prudish reluctance to create even remotely risqué content.

Furthermore I suspect that Adobe’s approach to training material may result in Firefly never fully »catching up« to the competition in all regards. 

But it can still be usefull in many cases.

@Rafaelis can you share examples of this not working? Honestly using the remove tool would be a better solution, but this does work as my example below shows.
