Generative Remove fails silently on 30 MP files since 27.10.0 (macOS)
Since the 27.10.0 update (installed around 27 August 2026) Generative Remove has been unusable on normal camera files.

Standard generative features listed as unlimited, 1980 of 2250 premium credits remaining
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a 6884 x 4302 px PSB (a cropped 30 MP full frame camera file), ProPhoto RGB, 16 bit, multiple layers with smart filters.
2. Select the Remove tool. Generative AI on, Sample all layers on, Create new layer on.
3. Paint over a small object and press Enter.
RESULT
The Removing area progress bar appears and stalls at roughly ten percent. After about a minute the dialog disappears, the mask is discarded, and no Remove tool edits layer is created. Nothing in the document changes. Sometimes the message Please check your internet connection and try again is shown. Often there is no message at all, so there is no way to tell a failure from a slow success.
EXPECTED
The area is removed and a Remove tool edits layer is created, as it does on small files.
WHAT I TESTED
A. Small file: PNG 1802 x 1212, 8 bit, single layer. Succeeds, but takes 90 to 150 seconds for one small object.
B. The same PSB duplicated and converted to 8 bit: identical silent failure. So bit depth is not the cause.
C. Reducing the pixel dimensions is the only thing that makes it work.
RULED OUT ON MY SIDE
No VPN active, all profiles disconnected.
iCloud Private Relay not available on my account.
Adobe status page reported all Creative Cloud services available throughout testing.
Signed out of Creative Cloud and back in, no change.
Sufficient generative credits.
QUESTIONS
1. Is there a documented image size limit for Generative Remove? If so, please publish it.
2. Is this a backend timeout or capacity issue rather than a client configuration issue?
3. A silent no-op is a defect in its own right. Please make the tool report failure instead of discarding the mask without a message.
6884 x 4302 is an ordinary file from a mainstream camera, already cropped. Downscaling it in order to use a headline feature of a professional application is not an acceptable workaround.
