Geometry Panel Guides Freeze, Cursor Becomes Invisible

Issue: When using the guided tool in Camera Raw's Geometry panel, the guides freeze and my cursor becomes invisible when I try to drag each line.

  • Photoshop version: 25.6.0 20240312.r.433 2bfcbf1 arm64
  • OS: Mac Sonoma 14.4.1

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a Nikon raw NEF file in Camera Raw that needs perspective correction.
  2. Select the Geometry panel.
  3. Select the last tool, Guided.
  4. Click to drag a line across a vertical or horizontal feature in the image.
  5. The line immediately freezes, mouse cursor becomes invisible.
  6. I cannot correctly place the line with an invisible cursor and frozen guide line.
  7. When I release the mouse button, the line is once again visible.
  8. Note that this has happened for a few months, and not consistently.

Expected result: Usable guide lines.
Actual result: Nearly unusable Guided Geometry tool.

Hi!

Have you tried resetting your Camera Raw Preferences? Here is a help doc on Managing your Camera Raw settings including resetting your CR preferenes: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/using/camera-raw-settings.html

Let us know if that fixes the issue, or if it still persists?

Well, I've run Photoshop daily for about a week now with NO ISSUES with the Geometry panel guides, so I think your suggestion was the anwswer.

Thanks!

I just now reset my Camera Raw defaults.

Since the problem doesn't always occur, I'll test for a few days and let you know.

But so far, so good.

Thanks.
