Getting Photoshop to read RW2 files

Hi, I've recently bought a Lumix GX1 camera - a really lovely piece of kit. The problem is that it shoots in a RW2 format for RAW. I've read about the Camera Raw 5.2 install, have installed it from Adobe downloads, and put the new plug-in where instructed to from the download instructions. PS still can't read them! I'm running Photoshop CS4 on a mac, os 10.5.8. Any ideas?

cheers,

Mark.

Hi Mark, you should be running the latest version of Camera Raw for CS4, that is 5.7

But anyways, according to this document: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407111.html the GX1 is first supported by ACR 6.6

You'll then need to download the latest version of the DNG converter, to convert your files to DNG, that your version of Camera Raw can support.

Write also an email to Panasonic US or Japan, asking them to support the free and documented DNG format in-camera, that would give day zero support in many raw converters!

Well, I hope affected posters take your advice – unless the manufacturers perceive the demand they will hardly change policies.

What gave you the idea Camera Raw 5 supports that camera?

    To quote from

    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.html

Support for the following cameras has been added from Camera Raw 6.5 to 6.6 and Lightroom 3.5 to Lightroom 3.6

    Canon Powershot S100
    Fuji FinePix X10
    Leica V-LUX3
    Nikon 1 V1
    Nikon 1 J1

    Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1

    Ricoh GR Digital IV
    Samsung NX5
    Samsung NX200
    Sony NEX-7

And have you tried the free DNG Converter yet?
