Question

GPU issues on 25.1

Photoshop 25.1.0

Windows 10 home

i7 7700 3.6ghz

32gb ram

1tb ssd

1tbssd

16tb hdd

Nvidia 1070

Using camera raw on a smart object no longer updates the contents.

Attempting to enter raw again produces an error message,

"You must have graphics processor acceleration enabled to use camera raw "

My graphics processor is working and enabled in preferences.

Photoshop is the only program having an issue with the GPU.

I'd love a hand with this. I've given 20 hours to it with no success.

I'm also attempting to at least figure out another solution. If I export a Tif and import it to LRC, is that the same? I've operated from a belief that it is not the same; that after exporting from Photoshop and returning to Lightroom, it is ineffective to make further adjustments.

Yessir. I appreciate the thought. I'm new to the forum, not to Photoshop.

This problem began at precisely the moment the update with the point color feature started running.
In my effort to modify my workflow, I have discovered that this update of PhotoShop is quite problematic for my older, though still powerful system.

Camera Raw uses the GPU independently from Photoshop. At the moment it looks like the most GPU-demanding functions are in ACR, not Photoshop.  ACR now requires GPU support to work at all. This is new.

If the GPU crashes in ACR, there is supposed to be some kind of log file that prevents it from starting up again. Deleting this file should initiate a new GPU test, and it will start up again if there are no problems. I've only heard about this in connection to Macs, so I don't know where this file is on Windows.

If you find that you need a new GPU, I would recommend the RTX 4060. It performs very well in PS/ACR/Lr, and is quite reasonably priced.

Probaría la compatibilidad de la tarjeta gráfica

Además, como es Nvidia , comprobaría que su controlador tiene la versión Studio, no la Gaming
