Group layers defaulting to Normal not Pass Through

When I group layers with control C, the group created is sometimes " Normal " and not "Pass Through"

Is this a bug or  am I doing something to change to new group.

How are you creating these layer groups? Did you mean Control + G instead of Control + C? Since it only happens sometimes, is there any pattern in the groups where the issue occurs?

Thanks for sharing your System Info! It looks like your GPU drivers haven't been updated in almost 3 years. Could you check if there are any updates available? Another thing that might help is resetting your preferences. Here's how to do that: Reset Preferences.
