Groups automatically opening in Photoshop

Hi,

I wondered whether you could help me- I've updated PS and since all my groups automatically open when i try and move them! Could you tell me how to switch off this feature? Really annoying

    Try this

    With the move tool selected, go to the options bar and turn off i.e. uncheck "AutoSelect"

      Even with auto-select turned off, if you select a layer (let's say using a right click) the group opens up now.

      Yes the right click and select layer/group  does open the group as does clicking on the group layer mask in the layers panel (although you can get round that by clicking anywhere else for that layer in the panel and you still get the mask selected but without the group opening).

      No idea why it was done like that
