Hands-On Tutorial not working properly (at times)

Hello everyone!, I'm having an issue with the tutorials inside Photoshop, for as awesome as their are at teaching you things sometimes they don't work as they should, meaning it tells you to click something and after you do the program doesn't responds properly (or at all) so you're left being stuck because the tutorial isn't recognizing your input for some reason, maybe?

Here's an example, with the "Turn text into shapes" tutorial, where it asks me to select the Path Selection Tool but fails to properly recognize the input after I'm done selecting the tool in question.

(Sometimes I have to randomly click different things, resize the tutorial window, move the mouse around and then the next blue buble appears)

I can see this is a very old thread, and you'll have long since fixed your issue, but I will add that if Direct Selection and Path Selection tools were not responding, had you definitely changed the Type layer int a Shape Layer?  i.e. can you see the path outlining the text?

I am also having an issue with a tutorial. I am fairly new to photoshop and have been trying to work systematically through the tutorials. In the get to know layer masks tutorial, I have, as demanded, painted a certain section with black, which is supposed to reveal a second image underneath. It reveals nothing. It is just black. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Do these tutorials run in a web browser?  If yes, try a different browser.

Are you running any addvert blocking extensions?  These can kill pop-ups, so might break a web based tutorial.

Thanks - It was my mistake. I couldn't find a way to delete what I had posted. But thank you for the tip.
