Hardware advice please

Please forgive a long tech question but I really need some advice.  I'm a photography enthusiast who spends a lot of time editing raw image files in Adobe Camera Raw.  My image files tend to be around 82 MB.

I run Windows 11 Home (x64) Version 25H2PC on a PC with Photoshop 27.1.0.  The CPU is a 3.00 gigahertz Intel Core i7-9700F. There's 32GB of memory.  C: drive is a 512GB NVMe SSD which is about 70% full.

The computer is 6 years old.  A few months ago I became concerned that Adobe Camera Raw was running increasingly slowly, particularly when I'm using the new AI masking functions.  The machine was originally fitted with a Geforce GTX 1060 3GB GPU, so after taking advice from the computer manufacturer I replaced this with a Geforce RTX 3050 8GB.

I have seen little or no improvement in the speed of masking or anything else in Camera Raw.  More seriously, when I'm partway through an AI-masked editing procedure I now frequently get a report that "the GPU has encountered an error and will shut down" (or words to that effect).  After this happens I can no longer edit in ACR until I restart the computer.

I'm aware that a number of Photoshop functions nowadays are carried out in the Cloud and my internet connection speed is only 60 - 70 Mbps download and 18 - 20 Mbps upload.  I know this will affect the speed of any Cloud functions.  Nevertheless, I can't understand why my GPU keeps falling over, even when I'm not carrying out a Cloud function.

Device Manager say that my GPU is functioning properly and has the latest driver software.

Can anyone please offer me any advice on (a) why this keeps happening, and (b) what I can do about it?
