Has Hair identification with Neural filter been fixed or workaround developed?

Hi,

I see the issue of Photoshops nueral filter being used on faces and hair has been discussed several times over the last 5 years.

Has Adobe fixed this issue as it render the use of neural filters for face enhancement useless.

I have attached an example of the issue showing the original image and the use of 60% and 100% face enhancement. The face itself is excellennt and the lower part o the hair is excellent, however the top half of the hair remains blurry.

Has anyone got an easy workaround to this issue?

Does anyone know if Adobe has stopped calling this issue a feature and decided to fix it?

In my opinion some partner models seem to be handling this »problematic« scan fairly well and further fine-tuning of the prompt might improve the result further.

But as always with such AI-usage one should keep in mind that the result is not actually a photograph but digital artwork.

Neural filters have not been updated for years. It’s unclear if they still have a future in Photoshop.

Yes I have tried many AI tools, both online and download tools.

I have been dissapointed with most of them, Firefly was useless!.

Midjourney was pretty good but I used far too many credits trying to get a results that was still not useable.

So far the best rtesult has come from cutting the blurry hair and pasting lower down on the forehead and running the nueral filter again and then merging, blending and touching up a join from the original lower half of the hair wit the second hair filter.

Firefly will probably be hampered by Adobe’s decision to not use training material they have no rights to for a while yet, but the partner models (Flux and Gemini are directly available in Photoshop) might meet your expectations – I have already posted screenshots.
