I have the latest version of Photoshop, 27.6.0. However I just got a pop up window on my Mac saying

“Support Ending for Intel--based Apps. This version of “Photoshop 2026” will not open in a future release of macOS. Learn how to update to an Apple Silicon version.”

But this latest version of Photoshop is the silicon version (and has been since version 22 or so). What is going on? A Mac bug?

It should not be an issue currently, Apple shows that warning to give long advance notice because they’re expected to stop supporting Intel-based code in macOS 28 next year. By then, whatever version of Photoshop that is available will probably be fully compatible.

So the short answer is, keep Photoshop updated and it will probably be OK by the time it’s a real issue.

If the message keeps showing up long into the future, it could be something similar to what Spas K. suggested: There may be a non-Adobe plug-in or third-party add-on that still has Intel code.

Getting the same message without Photoshop Running in Rosetta, not checked in app info. I think it’s just a bug maybe.

yes, getting same message without photoshop running in Rosetta, I’m running an M2 pro, and am running photoshop v27.7 and MacOS 26.5. Its not a very helpful message - perhaps being flagged to more users than intended?

Thanks. I actually called Apple support to ask them, because I have had it happen with at least one other utility app. They had no idea. I have done multiple virus and malware scans, system wide, etc. And have always done so. Nothing has shown up. So wondering if it is some slightly strange bug… maybe also related to connecting an older Mac to my network recently (I rarely use it as connected to the Network, just for image work with WIFI off in my studio, so “isolated”). It is likely still using Intel chips, and the newer versions of Photoshop are incompatible with it. So maybe this is a kind of system wide warning because of that Mac? That would seem weird though, but I suppose possible, as any of my Apple hardware is “linked” when on and connected to my network.

Check that Photoshop 27.6 is not running under Rosetta by going to

Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2026, right clicking on the Adobe Photoshop 2026.app, clicking on Get Info and see if Open using Rosetta is checked.
