Help! Photoshop Generative Fill Not Working

Hey everyone,
I’m having trouble with Adobe Photoshop’s Generative Fill. The app is fully updated, but every time I try to use the feature, the progress bar only fills halfway—and then I get an error message saying

"Something went wrong. Please try again."

I’ve already tried reinstalling Photoshop, but no luck.
Has anyone faced this issue or know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Check if the appropriate layer is locked. If yes, unlock the layer.

Does Generative Fill is working with another image?

Check you graphic device driver if you have the recent version installed. If you've a NVidia card build in make sure that you have installed the recend Studio Version of the driver. Don't install the Game ready version!!

Please provide a copy of your 'System Info'. This can be get from the Photoshop menu item Help > System Info. There's a copy button in the System Info dialog. Press this button and paste the info into your next forum post.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 5 - Topaz Photo

Hi @morlaanil! Thank you for reaching out! I'm just checking in to see if everything's working as expected. If you're still facing issues with Gen AI not working, we'd be happy to help!

In addition to what AxelMatt has suggested, you can try out these steps as well:

1) Sign Out and Back in the Creative Cloud desktop app. This re-authenticates your account and can fix entitlement issues.

2) Check for Updates: Ensure both Photoshop and the Creative Cloud app are updated to the latest version.

3) Disable VPN or Proxy: If you are using a VPN or proxy server, disable it temporarily. These can interfere with how Photoshop connects to the AI servers.

3.1) Windows: Go to Control Panel > Windows Defender Firewall > Allow an app or feature through Windows Defender Firewall. Ensure that Photoshop.exe and Creative Cloud.exe are on the list and allowed for both Private and Public networks.

4) Whitelist all Adobe Network endpoints as listed here: Troubleshoot issues with networks, removable media in Photoshop

Let us know how's it going!
