Help: restore damaged psd file (Could not open "filename.psd" because of a program error)

My computer crashed while I was working on Photoshop. When it restarted and I tried to open the file, I received this pop up message "Could not open "filename.psd" because of a program error."

I checked the file's previous version but there was none. Please help me.

Another try is to check in Gimp, IrfanView or XnView

If this already doesn't work I see no chance to repair your file.

In the future you should save various editing stages as a seperate copies.

That way, you won't lose all your work if something goes wrong.

You can try another app that reads PSD, some have even had success with the photopea website... Good luck!

If it's only this file that have issues to open, I think you're out of luck.

You can try to copy this file to Dropbox and share the link here. Perhaps someone has an idea for repair.

Yes, only this file but I'm not allowed to share it. 😔
