How about adding a pen tool into the select and mask subject window? using the brush is too hard.

@kristiann_5042 do you mean besides the current pen tool? You can use that to make your path and convert into a mask.

Pen tool has a mode (in the Options Bar) for creating Paths and paths can be used for masking.
