How can I convert heic to jpg in bulk on my PC Windows 11?

Hello, I want to ask, I have a lot of HEIC format photos on Windows 11, which cannot be opened, and I want to batch convert HEIC to JPG format. Can Photoshop directly batch convert them? If so, how to do it? If not, are there any other simple methods recommended? Thank you everyone!

I have also encountered the same issue before. A bunch of HEIC photos on Windows 11 could not be opened. Later, I used TunesBro HEIC Converter, you don’t have to convert them one by one manually, and the quality of the converted images is also good. If you need an efficient batch conversion tool, I strongly recommend trying this!

I know this thread is a little old, but I ran into this HEIC to JPG problem a few days ago. If you have Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 try this:

- Open Photoshop Elements and select "Advanced" operating mode near the top center of the window.

- Under "Files", select "Process Multiple Files". If you are not in "Advanced" mode, "Process Multiple Files" will be greyed out. You do not have to open any files.

- You will get a dialog box with options. Enter the folder where the HEIC files are located in the "Source" box.

- Enter the destination folder of your choice where the converted JPGs will reside.

- Near the bottom of the dialog window, check the "Convert Files To" checkbox.

- To the right of the "Convert Files To" checkbox, select the JPG quality you want.

- Click the "OK" button in the lower right of the dialog box.

Photoshop Elements will step through all of the HEIC files in the source folder, convert them to JPG, and save them in the destination folder. You can see thumbnails of the selected HEIC files in the lower left corner of Photoshop Elements as it steps through the files. For the HEIC files from my iPhone, they will be converted at a rate of about one photo per second. It will run unattended.

I have not done extensive testing, but so far it seems to work quite well. I believe that it's a good idea to place the HEIC files in a folder by themselves. I don't have the full Creative Cloud version of Photoshop, but I'd be willing to bet it also has this capability or something similar.

I am currently using Photoshop Elements 2025, but I have used previous versions of Photoshop Elements for many years. I'm not sure how far back the "Process Multiple Files" option goes, but I think I saw it in Photoshop Elements 15.

When you convert HEIC to JPG in bulk on Windows 11, sometimes you lose a bit of image quality. If you’re not keeping an eye on the settings during conversion, JPG files can end up overly compressed and lose some of their original crispness. This can be a bummer if you were hoping for that high-quality snap.

That makes sense! It is really important to back up before batch converting HEIC to JPG, otherwise it will be troublesome if the conversion goes wrong. I have also downloaded unreliable conversion tools, and the conversion results were terrible. So in addition to the extensions that come with Windows, have you used any more reliable conversion software? Can you recommend it?

This method seems very convenient. I can view HEIC files directly on Windows 11! But if I want to convert HEIC to JPG in batches, is there an easier way? Can I convert the format directly after installing the extension, or do I need other tools to convert in batches?
