How can I remove Firefly from my Photoshop

If your computer “can’t handle this”, it’s not because of Firefly, which is processed on Adobe’s servers and doesn’t use any resources on your machine.

So you apparently have other hardware issues or shortcomings. If you post the full Help > System Info, we might spot something.

To be clear, I do not like Firefly any more than you do. But there are already open feature requests that you can add your vote to.

My computer can’t handle this, and shouldn’t have to. 

What problems arise, what alerts do you get when you try using those features? 

Please do not misuse terms like »fascist«. 

Aside from that you are not alone in not wanting to use AI features in Photoshop (and presumably otherwise or even in general), several people seem to have posted about this subject recently. 

You can add your vote to an existing Feature Request (Link below). 

And aside from simply not using the affected Features you can 

• do not confirm Firefly Terms of Use (if you haven’t already) 

• hide the AI dependent Tools (Remove Tool) and Features (Generative Fill, Generate Image, Rotate Object, …) via Edit > Toolbar, Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts and Edit > Menus 

• set the Remove Tool to »Generative AI off« 

• set Settings > Preferences > Image Processing > Select Subject … to »Device«
