The list of custom shapes is very limited. Previously I had access to many shapes. Now I only have a few animals, leaf shapes, flowers and boats. All the symbol shapes are missing.

How do I import these back in to photoshop please?

Thanks

Graham

The Shapes panel is used to manage shapes.

    • Open the Shapes panel from the Window menu (not the options bar).
    • Select the hamburger menu icon in the upper-right corner of the Shapes panel.
    • Select “Legacy Shapes and More” from the subpanel.
    • Browse and select “legacy shapes” from the Shapes panel.

Now the shapes will also appear in the options bar.

Additionally: Did you use custom shapes?

If so did you ever save them as a csh-file?

I do wonder why Adobe call them ‘legacy shapes’? It's not like these are unusual shapes. They are everyday shapes.

    You’re welcome @gl27359377! 😊

Good question about why Adobe uses the term “legacy”. The best I can come up with is that they use that term throughout Photoshop when they make a change and also keep a way for users to go back to the way they know, such as “Legacy Channel Shortcuts” and “Save for Web (legacy)”.

I’m with you on this one — I have no use for the flowers and boats. In the Shapes panel, I’ve moved the Shape groups I use to the top of the list and left the ones I don’t use way down at the bottom.

I’m happy that Adobe has given users a way to make adjustments in cases like this!
