How do I turn off the auto-playing video tutorials?

I can't find a setting to be able to turn off these annoying auto-playing video tutorials. Is there one hiding somewhere? I really do not want to be interrupted with this - especially with sound! - in my workflow. Is there a way to tell PS not to show them?

None of the recommended solutions worked. For starters there’s no preferences folder at all. I finally found TOOL TIPS listed under SETTINGS > GENERAL > NOTIFICATIONS. It makes me wonder what - if any, committment Adobe’s designers have to “LEGACY USERS” like myself. I’ve been using Photoshop since 1990….

@ROBERT5F9C The answers in this thread were correct when they were posted i.e. two years ago. Since then a new section was added within Preferences (Settings on Mac), called Notifications and tool tips was moved to that.
You may want to do what many of us do, which is check ‘Enable Quiet Mode’ within that same section. :-)

Try turning off Rich Tool Tips in Preferences.

I tried this and disabled "show rich tooltips", but Photoshop STILL opens the sample file itself.

How can I stop Photoshop from open the sample file?

Try this: Uncheck the "Show Tooltips" button, click on the "OK" button in the upper-right to confirm. Restart Photoshop.
