Question

How in the world does Photoshop not have proper built-in brushes by default in 2023?

Im shocked that Photoshop still does not have any solid set of default brushes after all these years.

How cant I even paint some simple grunge without having to bring my custom libraries from home.

Photoshop has like 1 brush for smear and one for mixer, what is this?

And what are these default installed Kyle's brushes? Who is Kyle? I just had to spend 30 minutes using default brushes as I had no internet.

Just look at Affinity Photo or whatever other software, I can just open it on a fresh install and it has a solid library that works without me having to go scramble around.

We are now entering the age of AI and Photoshop ships with soft round brushes, the first thing any artist in 1990 replaces. Pay Kyle to make a good library or something but this is shocking.

FYI - Kyle T. Webster is an Adobe employee who creates several sets of brushes available for download:

I would start with the Megapack. Once you download - I would keep a backup copy somewhere for safe keeping.

If you make a feature request and give examples of the kinds of Brushes you would like to see photoshop ship with, that might gain more traction and get suggestions from other users.
