I am intrigued by the work of this artist, Jr Kopra, and i am wondering what kind of techniques he would be using in Photoshop (if he's using photoshop) to create his work.

Here are some links to his work:

I am just an amature, so if someone could shed a light on the processes is Photoshop how one would go about creatin such art, it would be much apriciated.

This is what I have come up so far…..

motion blur; moving the camera while taking the picture

glass painting, with oil, acryl etc. But also with water, oil , gel. Meaby freeze a glass plate in the freezer with a bit of water on it..

light painting; moving lights while taking the picture

layered Photoshop compositing; and that’s what were talking about here:

  1. Different types of blur (or is it in camera? Out of focus)
  2. Copy, move the image, transform it and layer it with different opacity
  3. Use all kinds of effects, but what kinds?
  4. Use different layer options: normal, disolve, color dodge, overlay
  5. Make color/hue selections and manipulate them
  6. Sometimes he uses existing pieces of art, like this one; https://unsplash.com/photos/an-abstract-painting-of-red-and-blue-shapes-Jy5OYrczH-w
Is that a real painting behind it, or digital art? A picture of a painting hanging somewhere in a gallery?

I have no clue how to go about creating something like this. There are some real pros on this forum, what do you guys think?

Where do we start to break down this process?

Skills and Talent. Jr Korpa has developed an eye for this style of Photography. The painting process on glass from his youtube video shows the unblurred painting part of the final image. The blurry part is the background in a real life place he takes the picture.

Could any one of us duplicate it? yes. And it can be done in Photoshop.
You will need to do all of those things in your question and keep different elements in different layers.

Start with the painting layer. Paint the abstract paint splashes. Pick a color palette and let go. Experiment with different type of brushes so you can see what each one does, and choose the one you like.

The backround is a photograph of a place or person or a different painting. Out of focus, motion blurr, or a sketch!

Do not try to make art like Jr Korpa, but make similar art with your twist. Just to see what happens.
I don’t think there’s a tutorial on how to make this, except you can take some tips from watching his videos.

    Hi dacreatuvegenius,

thanks a lot for your reply.

trial and error is the keyword here. I am building a little studio where i can mess around with paint on glass, different lightning and a fixed camera setup.

    Layer blending modes are importand

    Using textures as masks

    Selecting color ranges, manipulate them

…...enough to keep me going for decades to come😂
