This is not a file with .psd extension. This file is created when saving custom workspace of Ps. Unwittingly, I opened this with Ps, that is why it shows Ps icon, othewise it is blank. How to get rid of this icon?

You would need to edit the windows registry (do so at your own risk and back up first). By 'opening with', the registry will now have an entry for psw in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT which will store the OpenWithProgids.

Where does this appear? This file should be normally be saved in the Photoshop > Settings folder in your user account, along with other settings.

Yes this is saved in WorkSpaces folder. If I reset the computer all files in the WorkSpace will be erased. To get it back, I kept a copy of this file in a external folder.

This PC > OS (C:) > Users > fiatn > AppData > Roaming  > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Adobe Photoshop 2025 Settings  > WorkSpace

Then why do you need to get rid of the icon? All these "settings" files have a psd icon - that's just to show that they are Photoshop-dependent files.
