How to keep the mediabox, when placing a ai. from cc library in Photoshop

@andrew6750237317464687 When you save a graphic to a CC Library from Illustrator, it primarily saves the vector artwork itself. When placed into Photoshop, it is placed as a Smart Object that only encompasses the bounding box of the artwork, not the invisible Artboard boundary from Illustrator.

The only thing I can think of in Illustrator, you could create a very thin bounding box. I would create a rectangle or any shape that matches the exact size and position of your intended "safe zone" (the Artboard dimensions). Set the fill to None and its stroke to a very thin, distinct color (like a bright magenta or cyan). Group this new bounding box with your logo artwork. Save this Group as a new Graphic asset to your CC Library. But then when you place, you would have bright thin border, and you would need to crop it so that it doesn't show. 

Maybe try saving it as a PDF? Personally, I never placed a PDF in Photoshop before?! In InDesign or Illustrator, yes, but not Photoshop!?! Sorry, not much help here!
