How to move keyboard shortcuts and preferences to new photoshop

Hi all..  I am a little frustrated and annoyed that everytime there is a new photoshop version, I have to re assign my own shortcuts and keys to tools. I have to reload my saved actions and sometimes assign them shortcuts again. Re-do my preferred layout for all the windows and position them again.

Is there a way photoshop can automatically pick up my preferences and presets and all the shortcuts or assigned keys? or is there a simpler way for me to move/migrate them?

Please help?

Did you check »Import previous settings and preferences« when upgrading?

I think I did check all the options i could find relevant. Multiple times.. I can import presets but not keyboard shortcuts widow layouts and tab preferences.. I just stopped updating at this point. Still using photoshop 2023. Maybe I'll update when we are in 2027. 😕😕

Those settings should transfer fine if you check the appropriate checkbox when updating upgrading. (edited)

There is also Edit > Presets > Migrate Presets.

And aside from that you can always manually copy kys-files and psw-files to the appropriate Folders.

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2024/Presets/Keyboard Shortcuts

~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop 2024 Settings/WorkSpaces

Can you believe they didn't add a button for importing kys files?
