How do you open .gif files in Photoshop

    Hi josephf54597421,

    Please follow the below steps in order to open a .gif file:

    • File -> import-> video to layers.

    • In the dialogue box type "*.*" to show all file types.

    • Select your GIF file and which frames to import.

    • They will now be available in your animation palette.

    Hey there,

    I have  issues with opening the gifs trought File -> import -> video to Layers. PS opens the same gifs trought file -> open tho. But i need the dialoque box to select the frames i want to import...How can I fix this?

    It should just open using File>Open.
