How to organize Photoshop photos

Question

I confess, I don't use Photoshop much. I find it too overwhelming and I am far more familiar and comfortable in LR. But since I have been Auto Blending etc I can see the need for some cataloging, and BTW I am on a Dell using Windows 10 and the latest version of PS. But I'm seeing suggestions I rely on the Libray panel, others that I need to use Elements to track and locate and still others say Bridge. Anyone have any advise, even which You Tube tutorial. I want to get this done before I get in too deep. Thanks

If you want to do some research, then look for Digital Asset Management.

What I have done for many years is to name the folders

2023_10_6 Meaningful Name

This ensures that they remain in date order on the drive, with the meaningful name as a final filter.

I think most people who take a lot of pictures use Lightroom to catalog, but I have always preferred Bridge. You can go through the images giving them a star rating (just press 1 to 5) then filter the ones you want to process or reject.

Remember, we are only as good as the pictures we let people see, so be ruthless when processing.
