Question

How to remove "custom file name" from export action?

Please bear with me - i'm new to actions .
I've added some action scripts from a co-worker, but my adobe suite has added an extra step to the Export action "custom file name" .
This means everytime I use the export function the files are overriding each other as they all have the same name - this issue is not present when the same actions are used on other abobe accounts... I need to maintain the original file names in order to batch the images.

any ideas on how to either remove this action step - or add in the original file name to the script..?

Thank you!!!

@georgiahh1877 - For clarity, actions and scripts are two separate, different - but related features.

This is an action.

The issue is that the Export > Save for Web command has recorded the filename and not only the export path:

You will need to remove and re-record that action step on your Mac, just setting the save path without touching the filename field:

Document save paths an often be problematic when actions are shared, sometimes such steps need to be re-recorded so that the path resolves correctly on a different computer.

Pardon - thank you for the clarification .

This may seem like a silly question - but how do i do that? I am not changing the file name in the recording (but it is auto highlighted when i click save) please see video attached

OK, I can see that you didn't touch/change the filename... Let me check in 2023 as I was testing in an earlier version.
