Question

How to Tint Plain Maple Wood Like I am Staining it

Could someone please help me figure out how to tint this plain maple wood so it matches the stained wood shown next to it in the attached image?

I want to preserve the natural wood grain rather than wash it out. Ideally, I’m looking for a way to tint the maple so the existing grain remains visible while taking on the same color and appearance as the stained wood.

    Hi,
    Try this :
Add a curve, set to blend mode ‘luminosity’, and darken the wood
Add a solid colour fill layer, set to blend mode ‘color’. Set the solid colour the same as the darker wood.
You can adjust both independently until you get the shade you want.
