How to uninstall PS 2026?

MacBook Pro, Tahoe 26.5.1, PS 2026. PS somehow got corrupted and will not launch. I ran the PS uninstaller but the app was not deleted even after restart. However my account appears to show it uninstalled as the “3 dots” does not have an uninstall option.

At this point the installation isn’t working properly anyway, so dragging the app to the trash won’t hurt.

To remove possible other files, in your Finder use Go > Go to Folder (Cmd+Shift+G) and remove leftover support folders such as:

~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop 2026
~/Library/Preferences/ → the com.adobe.Photoshop.plist files

Try running the cleaner tool again. Or try reinstalling the app and then uninstalling again.

Yes, but there are two different directories to the installation - two main “Photoshop 2026” folders. There’s the program files themselves, and then there’s settings and preferences and various support files. The latter is located in your machine user account main directory, separate from the program files. This may not be removed in an uninstall.

Thanks for the response but it seems that it may be Windows oriented. I’m on a MacBook Pro – everything up to date. In the applications folder there is only one Photoshop folder which contains the program file, Adobe Photoshop 2026.app, and other folders for all of the preferences and support files. The program file icon has a circle with a slash on it. If I try to launch the program I get a message the I can’t because the program is either damaged or incomplete. I have tried the uninstall in the PS folder and the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Neither deletes the program. PS.app still shows 4.24 GB disk space used.

I could drag the whole thing to the trash but that’s generally not a recommended way to uninstall a program.

A definitive solution would sure be appreciated.

I installed and ran the tool but all the files are still in the Photoshop 2026 folder.

Where exactly do you have leftover files?

If you uninstalled but kept preferences, you will still have a huge folder in your user account.

I ran the uninstall that came with the package but the app and all the associated files are still listed in the Photoshop 2026 folder. The app icon has a circle with a slash. The uninstall gives the choice of retaining the preference and other files.
