Question

How to use 'lock transparent pixels' on an imported drawing

Hi there,

I want to use the lock transparent pixels feature on an image that I have converted to a black drawing on a transparent background by 1. adjusting threshold, 2.adjusting blending option. When I use the lock transparent pixels feature, the marching ants show that it is applied to the whole rectangular perimeter of the image, rather than the actual lines of the drawing. How do I fix this?

Please show a screenshot with your Layers panel (appropriate layer selected) and image with marching ants.

Does the layer have transparent pixels?

Locking the layer for transparency does not trigger the marching ants. What it does is prevent painting on pixels that are currently transparent.

How are you making the selection? Are you Command+Clicking on the layer thumbnail to select only the pixels on the layer?

I've moved your post from Using the Community to the Adobe Photoshop forum.
