Question

How well does Photoshop AI Assisted Editor handle precise edits?

I’ve been exploring the new AI Assisted Editor (Beta) in Photoshop 27.10 and really like the idea of using natural-language prompts for common editing tasks.

I’m curious about how well it handles more precise edits, especially when using Markup to identify a specific area of an image.

For those who have tried it:

  • How accurate are the results with detailed prompts?
  • Does Markup make a noticeable difference compared with text-only prompts?
  • How well does the workflow transition from AI Assisted Editor to Pro Editor for further refinement?

I’d be interested to hear about real-world experiences and any tips for getting more consistent results. 💃

@Clever_Glaze0749 for me it has been an ‘hit and miss’ — for example, I was trying to do some Photoshop edits to my father-in-law who passed away; and I wanted to straighten his head a bit (his head was tilted); I selected the head, and prompt it, and instead they change the head from Asian to a African American male’s head—that’s when my wife came in and said ‘WT?’ . In panic, I must hit generate again, and the head change to Cauasian Female head. I do un-do, and manually did it.

Other times, it worked great on non-rushed work. Not sure if the Assistant knows if its rushed or not and is playing a game with me!
