I completely understand your frustration—transitioning to a new computer should feel simple, especially when you’ve been using Photoshop for so many years. The issue you’re running into is likely related to Adobe’s Creative Cloud system, which now requires sign-in to manage subscriptions and access software.

Michael, for the most part this forum is manned by ordinary users like yourself, who have no obligation to answer posts.  Your post is not too bad, but rants are generally ignored and those posts go unanswered.

For now, open Task Manager (Ctrl Alt Delete) and look for an instance of Photoshop in Background Processes.  If you see one, select and click on End Task and Photoshop will probably open.   Or you can restart your computer, which will also work.

When this happens, I fin't it can be fixed by resetting Preferences.  You can't reset Preferences from within Photoshop if you can't open it, but this manual method will work.

I may have to cancel my subscription

A screenshot will help us to help you.

Is this a new installation or did it just start? Does your computer meet or exceed the recommend requirements?

Please note that the annual subscription is deeply discounted, so there is a fee for early cancellation if you cancel after 14 days.

I can understand your frustration, but instead of saying all is stupid gave us detailed informations about your issue.

Do get any error messages or warnings? If yes please post the messages here word-by-word.

What steps do you've tried.

In a first step goto Adobe's website and install the Creative Cloud Desktop client.

Then signin with your Adobe ID

After this has be done, use the Desktop Client to install your CC application(s).

The last step should be the migration of presets, sction, workspaces and so to the new conmputer.

Migrate presets, actions, and settings
