I need dng converter to run on Mac OS 10.6.8

When I am working on my older iMac, I occasionally need to convert a proprietary Raw file into dng format. Version 8.4 won't run on OS 10.6.8.

Is there a version that will? From where can I download it?

I'm sure 8.3 will. Adobe Camera Raw 8.4 or later on Mac OS 10.6, Windows XP, and Vista

But you can on convert to DNGs raws camera models supported by that edition and no later.

Officially mac os x 10.6.8 can only use up to the adobe dng converter 8.3.

You can run dng converters newer than 8.3 on mac os x 10.6.8, but it takes a little work and it's the windows version of the dng converter.

I used an application called Wineskin.

These are dated screenshots and now i have adobe dng converter 9.9 running on mac os x 10.6.8, but the install procedure is the same.

DNG Converter 8.3 was the last version to run on OS X 10.6.8.

Just need to ensure that the camera whose Raw files you are converting is supported

Cameras supported by Camera Raw

If you need Camera Raw 8.4 or later then you cannot use the 8.3 converter.

Thank you. My sentence came out a bit disorganized, but what I should say is that you are limited to the Camera Models 8.3 supported.

Since DNG Converter 9.9 is the latest, you may have to run it under Wine as R_Kelly mentioned, upgrade your system, or keep a spare Windows or upgraded mac around.

But it depends on what camera you are using. Older DNG converter versions won't convert RAW files from newer cameras.
