    Adobe Creative Cloud Suite API

The Adobe Creative Cloud Developer Platform provides a robust set of APIs and SDKs to extend, integrate, and automate workflows across Creative Cloud applications. These tools enable developers to build plugins, scripts, and integrations that enhance the functionality of Adobe's creative tools, such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and more.

Key Features of the Creative Cloud APIs

    1. Extensibility Across Apps: Developers can create plugins and scripts for individual apps like Photoshop, Illustrator, or After Effects, or integrate multiple apps simultaneously. This allows for automation of repetitive tasks, creation of custom tools, and seamless integration with other software.

    2. RESTful APIs: Adobe offers RESTful APIs for services like Lightroom, Creative Cloud Libraries, Adobe Fonts, and Adobe Stock. These APIs enable developers to manage assets, manipulate metadata, and streamline workflows programmatically.

    3. Plugin Marketplace: Developers can publish their plugins and integrations to the Creative Cloud Plugin Marketplace, making them accessible to millions of users. Enterprise admins can also deploy these plugins via the Admin Console for business use.

    4. Adobe I/O Runtime: For enterprise customers, Adobe provides a serverless computing platform called Adobe I/O Runtime. This allows developers to execute custom code in response to events or API calls without managing servers.

    5. Event-Driven Architecture: Adobe I/O Events enable developers to respond to specific actions within Creative Cloud apps, such as file updates or user interactions. This facilitates real-time integrations and notifications.

    6. SDKs for Custom Development: Adobe provides downloadable SDKs for various products, allowing developers to create tailored solutions. These SDKs include documentation and configuration options to simplify the development process.

    Example Use Cases

    • Photoshop Automation: Use Photoshop APIs to create plugins that automate image editing tasks, such as batch resizing or applying filters.

    • InDesign Publishing: Streamline editorial workflows by integrating InDesign with external content management systems.

    • Premiere Pro Extensions: Build tools to automate video editing tasks, add support for new codecs, or integrate with external hardware.

    • Lightroom Integration: Develop applications that interact with Lightroom to manage photo libraries or apply custom presets.

    Getting Started

To begin using the Creative Cloud APIs, developers can access the Adobe Developer Console, where they can browse available APIs, SDKs, and events. The console also provides tools to configure projects, manage licenses, and download SDKs.

For more advanced use cases, developers can explore the Adobe Tech Blog and join the Creative Cloud Developer Community to stay updated on new features, best practices, and upcoming events.

my bad, i was still thinking in my point of view.

I am coming from a “coding”, “developer” point of view.

I am using Integrated development environment (IDE) where I could use “API” to call other tools. For example: Adobe.

I am currently adding all of the available services into IDE and building from there.

Also, can you expand on what you mean by API?

It is difficult to understand exactly what is happening for you.  Are you saying that the Generative Fill is greyed out?  If yes, then do you have an active selection?

No selection. Generative Fill is greyed out.

The entire canvas is selected. i.e. You can see the marching ants.

    Generative Fill is now available.

If this is not your issue, tell us again using much more detail. Use screen shots if you think it might help.
