ICC profile conversion for AI partner models generative fill

Does there need to be some sort of warning pop up when you use the third party AI models. Ive just used Flux2 pro generative fill on a Prophoto RGB 8bit image and it doesn't seem to do any sort of icc profile management or conversion.I think It should tell you it can only handle sRGB or ask do you want to convert it before sending it to AI server. ( all colour settings set to preserve embedded profile, working space is Adobe RGB, image was a scanned tiff prophoto file)

Not that I've tried this, nor do I intend to - but unless the profile is actually stripped from the file, the profile itself is irrelevant. Any processing, AI or otherwise, is just done on numbers

Even so, AI algoritms by definition make new content that wasn't there in the original.

Do you get satisfactory results for sRGB images?

I did a quick test and even in an sRGB image FLUX 2 seems to »miss« the background colours, so I am not sure this is purely related to a lack of color management.

yes, sRGB works fine, prophoto profile returns over saturated results. Im using it to restore the colour on faded colour photos by inputting the command “Restore colour” Maybe its just a quirk of this particular AI model then?

With colorising bw-images I get results that seem to fit your description.

Maybe you should post a Feature Request.
