"ICC profile is invalid." when trying to open photos imported from iPhone

I am not able to open any photos imported from my phone in Photoshop 2024 recently. I am getting this error: 

Could not open “IMG_0986.png” because the ICC profile is invalid.

Hey, @KatieKAS. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.

 

How do you bring images from the iPhone to Photoshop? Via Lightroom or Finder? 

 

Before troubleshooting, update Photoshop & Camera Raw to the latest version (v25.5) via the Creative Cloud desktop app & check if the issue exists. If the issue exists, please explain your workflow with screenshots & it'll help if you could share a set of sample images here, or to me through direct message.
