Image doesn't copy as original

I have a LR edited image, and moved it to PS. Looks perfect.

I want to place it onto a new document, within PS. I create the new document, ensuring that both the image and the blank document, are set as RGB Colour and 16 bit. I drag the image onto the blank document and this is what happens to the colors.

Any thoughts? If I Place Embedded to get the good image onto the blank PS document. it's perfect but when a drag and drop from within PS, this is the results.

Not different, but one is untagged, missing an embedded profile.

Here you apparently got ProPhoto from Lightroom, but copied it into an untagged base document.

Always make sure there is an embedded profile.

As long as there is an embedded profile, they don't need to match. It will be correctly converted.

I think you have the answer D Fosse. How do I ensure an embedded profile from LR?

I just throw a quick glance here by habit, for every document I'm working on:

I rather suspect your new base document is untagged, but anyway, the effect is the same.

A file coming out of Lightroom will always have a profile. It's not possible to disable that.

Legend

You may be using different colorspaces for the two images. I'd check that first.
