Image sequence orientation

Hi, I'm making an image sequence film and the portrait photos are initially being placed in a skewed way in the frame, and then after a certain point all the portrait photos are being rotated on their side as if they were landscape, regardless of the orientation of the images. I can only assume this is happening because of the dimensions of the portraits not fitting to the frame obut I would like to know if I can amend this with a photoshop action that will resize / position them in the frame properly.
