Update on the issue:

  • The issue occurs with the Move tool, not the Crop tool. I'm moving an object over the edge of the canvas and then moving it back in the canvas. The part of the object that was not visible on the first move is deleted.

Hi @hannapettyj

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. I’d really appreciate it if you could share a few more details as mentioned above—it'll help us better understand what’s going on.

Also, could you please confirm if the problem is happening with just one specific file or with newly created files as well? If possible, please share a sample file with us. You can upload it to Creative Cloud or any file-sharing service like Google Drive or Dropbox and send us the download link. If the file contains confidential information, feel free to share it via DM.

We’re here to help!

Regards,

Srishti

Can we see Layers panel in the screenshot? Expand it then take screenshot.

Otherwise try with preference reset what can solve weird problems in Photoshop. Save any unsaved presets and actions before reseting prefs Preferences in Photoshop

I will assume you haven't used Crop from Image menu after creating selection of entire canvas.

Hi!

Did you happen to crop the image with "Delete Cropped Pixels" checked in the Options Bar? This is what would happen if it was checked. If it is checked, uncheck it and it will not crop those parts of the image that are overhanging the edge next time your crop.

If that is not the case, let us know?

@simd98821319 not seeing the issue here with Photoshop version 25.0 on Windows 10, it might help if we could see your full system info, looks like it could be a GPU related issue.
