Importing photo not working

I couldn't open or import any photos into my Photoshop. It is not showing any errors. it just stays as it is.

I don't know what to do.... I am using the genuine paid version but I'm facing this issue... The worst part is no one is helping..

    p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
