Question

Is anyone else having problems with files not opening up in photoshop after the latest update?

I have tried going to Get Info and changing it to default to Photoshop, but the change will not hold.  Anyone have any suggestions.  It either opens up in Acrobat or Preview.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out! Not an ideal solution, but reinstalling Photoshop has helped many users facing the same issue.

Try reinstalling the version you want to set as default. Photoshop typically takes over file associations based on the most recently installed version.

I’ve run into similar issues myself, especially when I have both the regular and beta versions installed.

Same- that is why I am here looking for answer to this- mine is defaulting to my beta photoshop instead of Photoshop 26.... I set it in file info and it reverts back when I tell it to change all psd to open in Photoshop

Yes—a stupid mistake. Go back to the previous version.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
