Is it prohibited to buy a copy of CS6

Question

I bought CS6 on ebay and when I received it, it was obviously a copy.  eBay has a strict policy against selling copied software. Am I correct that I should report it to them and ask for a refund?

CS6 hasn't been legally available - anywhere - for at least 6 or 7 years.

It's not about the actual copy. That's not what you paid for. What you paid for is the serial number to license it.

All serial numbers originally issued by Adobe are long since exhausted, and no new serial numbers issued since, oh, 2016-2017 or so.

In short - if you see one, it's pirated. That's not a probability, but a dead certainty.
