Is there a way to edit the list of printer profiles in the Photoshop Print Settings Printer Profile dropdown?

In the photoshop print dialog box I have a very long list of profiles, most of which I never use. Is there a way to cut down on the number of profiles that I see there and have to scroll through? Do I have to find and delete the ones I will probably never use, or can I move them to another folder to get them out of the way?

This has been a long-standing problem. The way I handle it is to use type-ahead to scroll directly to the profile I want. For example, if I want a profile for my Epson printer, all of those profile names start with “Epson” so in the Print dialog box I do this:

    1. Click the Printer Profile menu and leave the menu open.
    2. Type “ep”

That scrolls the open menu directly to the first profile name that starts with “ep” so that it’s in view and selects that profile, and now I can just click the one I want in that group such as “Epson Stylus Pro 3880_3885_3890 PremiumLusterPhotoPaper”.

As far as I know, it has never been explained why the Print dialog box in Photoshop lists profiles that are never be used for printing, such as the pro video profiles (for example the ACES, Arri, Panasonic, and Sony profiles). In contrast, when printing from Lightroom Classic, InDesign, or Illustrator, the input profiles for pro video cameras are not shown and so they don’t get in your way.

On Windows, many of these obscure or irrelevant profiles can be found in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Color\MPProfiles
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color

Create a new folder named for instance “Unused profiles” and move the profiles you don’t want to that folder. They will now no longer be listed in the Print dialog.

Sorry, not that I know. It’s been requested here a couple of times. Yes, it’s as long as my arm.
