Question

Is this a legitimate update? 24.7.4?

I updated to Photoshop v 25.9 6 days ago and I was prompted today by Creative Crowd Desktop of a new update. However it is named v 24.7.4. Is this a bug I should report or is it a version that perhaps I skipped but need to install?

Yes, the update is a legitimate "stability" update for v24. It's not uncommon that the previous version get updates, although not as frequently as the current.

If you're not using v24, but just keep it around for a while in case of problems in v.25 - as I do - there's no particular reason to run this update. In fact I'd recommend you don't, because it will then take over file associations, and you may have to run the v25 installer once again to restore proper file associations.

Version 22 is unaffected by any of this.

Do you have Photoshop 2023 installed, which is what the 24.7.4 update is for.

Looks like there are a few typos on the Legacy version update information page where the first four listed should be Photoshop 2023, not Photoshop 2022.

Photoshop 2023 is Photoshop version 24

Photoshop 2022 is Photoshop version 23

@philmars

From what I can tell, 24.7.4 is an update for 22.2, which doesn't make sense to me. Hold off until more Experts and/or staff clarifies this.
